KAPP was pre-qualified by Halton Region as the General Contractor to bid on this project. Upon being awarded the contract, we seamlessly incorporated the design specifications provided by WSP into the construction phase. Despite the separation of the design and construction phases, we demonstrated a keen ability to navigate and integrate the project components efficiently.

The overall scope of the project included the reconstruction/widening of road, re-alignment and construction of a new section of Sixteen Mile Creek Tributary including constructing natural habitat features, construction/replacement of bridge and culvert structures, traffic signals along with street lighting, installation of wet utilities by microtunneling and open-cut methodology.

The project involved extensive environmental management as Sixteen Mile Creek Tributary is environmentally sensitive area and provided habitat for the Redside Dace which is a provincially protected species under the Endangered Species Act, 2007. Habitat features that are constructed included the placement of rounded riverstone, boulder clusters, wetland pockets, undercut banks with embedded logs, log sweepers, woody debris piles, root wads, sunning logs, snake hibernacula, raptor poles and turtle nesting habitat. Landscaping includes the installation of 1,000+ deciduous trees, 100+ coniferous trees, and 12,000+ shrubs.

During construction of the Tremaine project, KAPP faced multiple challenges including hydrogeological (high-water table), staging construction, artesian pressure and traffic control etc. The introduction of a temporary support system demonstrated a strategic departure from conventional construction methodologies, emphasizing a nuanced and technically advanced approach. The technical precision involved in the installation of the support system showcased KAPP's proficiency in hydraulic engineering, hydrogeology, and construction management, as it successfully navigated the intricate challenges presented by the high-water table and artesian pressure.
